Issues: Guns

We need strong families. The family is the basic unit of society. It is where our children learn values. All laws and policies should strengthen and support families and traditional family values.

TJ believes that no success can compensate for failure in the home. TJ believes laws should support and strengthen the family and help parents provide a good life for their children.

TJ believes marriage is between one man and one woman.

TJ is pro-life.

TJ believes that each of us has the right to defend himself or herself against the criminal acts of others without fear of punishment, civil or criminal.

TJ believes that the government should not take private property to enable development to increase the tax base.

TJ believes in tort reform. TJ believes that plaintiffs (or in egregious cases, their attorneys) should pay the reasonable attorneys' fees of a defendant if the plaintiff does not prevail in a lawsuit.

TJ believes that each of us has the right to bear arms. He does not favor gun control, but believes that if gun control measures are adopted they should focus on the person who owns the gun, not the gun itself.
